Windows: if SmartScreen says "Windows protected your PC", choose More info → Run anyway. On Windows, CaribScribe lives in the system tray (bottom right, near the clock).

Install

  1. Open the downloaded file and drag CaribScribe into Applications.
  2. Open CaribScribe. A small icon appears in the menu bar at the top of the screen, and CaribScribe opens in your browser.
  3. Choose to trust CaribScribe's certificate when asked (macOS asks for your password). This stops browser warnings.
  4. Create a passphrase. Write it down somewhere safe: it can't be recovered.
  5. Go to Settings → AI models and press Download recommended (about 2.5 GB, one time). After that, no internet is needed.

Requirements

  • macOS 12 Monterey or later
  • 8 GB memory minimum, 16 GB recommended
  • About 10 GB free disk space for the app and models, plus space for your recordings
  • Phones and tablets: a recent iPhone/iPad (Safari) or Android (Chrome) on the same Wi-Fi as your Mac
